In addition to theze them were 200 dlshea of jelliea and oream, 300 dishes ; of merlnguea, Brenah pastries, mo. , 200 froit tarts, and 350 ice?. The desaert inolnded 50 p'na apples 20 melons, 250'bs of grapea, 240 dishes of apples, pears, eto , and sundry other dishes. Nuts are avoided, as their otacklng disturbs the oratory. The wine oonaamed amounted to about 60 dozen champagne, with a few dozen of sherry, hook, and claret, not ab re 20 d am In all. The wine account;. It 1b fair to say, oovers several luncheons and dinners of the Lord Mayor and Sheriff's Committee, who have the direction of the arrangements. There were nearly 800 1 guests prosent, aod a large n amber of servants dined outside the hall. In accordance with the nsual oustom, everything remaining was distributed among poor and deserving persons known to the members of the oomtnittep, and this year 130 families were made happy by the very substantial • scrap* ' left on the Lord Mayor's table."
