Fat Shbbf.— -Only about 3500 were yarded icday, and of these there was nothing of •patjal quality to note. There was a general ieetfof permeating those present that it was fittle qh to buy for freezing just yet, as the works are completely blocked with large lines to arrive. The result was that with the exception of a buyer from the West Ooast, who picked ap raoh Unas as suited him, the demand was limited to the focal trade. At the «osnmeneement of the sale there was a Blight drop m values, but not sufficient to affoot former quotations, beat quality realising olose on lfd per lb, inferior very dull. Fax JjAmbs.— Nearly 2000 lamba were m the yards, and the demand not being m proportion a good many lines were withdrawn. Some prime heavy weights, (orossbred with good skins, whioh are now worth from Jls 6d to 2s 9d, f etohed 8s 6d, while others were withdrawn at that figure. fixou Bhkp.— Thare were only two or tbtee store sheep pens oooupied, and these were cot m great requeßt. Crossbred ewes realised 3s 3d to 7s 2d, according to quality ; and merinos sold very cheap. Calves.— The entry was but a small one, bat some good vealers fetched full values, the top price given being 19a. Fat Oattlx. — The sale of fat cattle was very dragging. Some prime quality ox beef was offered, but barring the bare requirements of the trade, which were, if anything, more limited m this direotfon than usual, tbej were paaaed m or sold at from la to 2s below former quotations. The highest price realised was a trifle under 17s per 100 lbs, Stobb Cattle. — A little more active demand appears to exist for good qualitj •tores, and some fair prioes were obtained foi ohoiee lines. The entry was a large one and oeeopied a considerable portion of the day'f business at £2 to £3 Is ; heifers, £2 10a : yearlings, at 270. Pros.— There uas a small entry of good ■tore pigs, which sold well.
