! MR TWOPENY IN SYDNEY. ; ' (Pmb Pbbss AssooiATioir.j Stdkjt, January 18. Mr Twopeny, the Executive Commissiorier of the Dunedin Exhibition,, is visiting New South Wales, m the interests of the Exhibition, but owing to the political crisis has practically done nothing. He had an interview witb Sir Henry Parkes, who expressed himself favorably to the Exhibition, and the representation of New South Wale* thereat, but m the present circum stances Sir Henry regretted that he was, unable to promise any assistance m forwarding the object m view. Mr Twopeny also waited on Mr Dibbs immediately the new Cabinet was sworn' m, but.the Premier*! time was too much pressed .by^ppliticat business to allow of his entertaining the subject at present. He BUggested that Mr Twopeny should iolerview him again, m a fprtqi|bt| i?hen; he would be better able td Beal with the matter. Amopg others, MrMontefiore,' one of the ' Trustees of the National Art Gallery, has been interviewed by Mr Twopeny, and bad promised his hearty co-oper#tion. He thinks a good loan collection of pictures can be obtained m Australia for exhibition at Dunedin. Mr Twopeny has made full enquiry into the Working Women's Industrial Exhibition recently held here, and has seen the Governqr and leading politicians and laid before them the advantage that would accrue from an extension of commerce between the colonies.
