The following is the Com Exchange report for the week ending Friday, Januaiy 18th, 1689 :- Business has been more active daring the past week and several Urge transactions have been recorded. Prloee, however, have not Improved, as ia wheat the miller* are well aopplled, and for shipping to England prices have been too high. New oata are now m competition with old itoeki. List week's rates have given way except for prompt delivery, for which better prices have been given. Grass teed has been active, acd new seed is engaging attention. Sales have been made at oar quotations. Whbat — PilmeTatoan milling bat boen placed at 3i lOd to 3s lid ; pear! and Hanter'i, at 8i 8d to 3« lOd ; whole chick wheat 3s 3d, and broken wheat at 2s 9J lo SaOatS— Old parcels have been qaltted at 2a Ud to 3?, and new lines for prompt delivery at 2i 9d to 2j 10 d, and 2* 6d to 8s 7d for forward delivery. These prices are for good stoat feed Barmy— None offering. Bbabs are enquired for at 3s 3d, and bine peai at 3i to 33 3d aooordiog to ■ample. Bteobass Sbkd has had an aotlve demand at 2s 3) to 23 6d for farmers' lines, and machine dresied at 33 31 to 3s 61. Cocksfoot ia being offered freely at 3d for delivery next month, but buyers are holding off nntil samples of balk are to hand. Dairy Produce.— Batter— ln addition to heavy shipments from New Zealand, we have been advised that the Sydney market b glutted with their own roske, and prices for best quality New Sonih Wales 10 i per 1b with no enquiry for New Zealand, Prices, therefore, are nominal at 6d. Cheese m now being freely offered at reduced sales, we quote 4d to 4£i for prime. The above pricea are those paid to farmers for delivery f.0.b. ; tacks extra.
