Haw Plymouth, January 15 A large and influential drputatinn waited on Mr Samuel, M.H R . this morning respetting a letter sent by Mr William Bayley, the late Mayor, to the Minister of Justice marked " private," but signed aa Mayor, stating that a numbor of burgesses had requested him to aak the Government to remove District Judge Bawson as bo was partial. ( The deputation said Mr Bayley had no right to take npon himself during hie last day of office aa Mayor, aud without consulting tbe Borough Council to send such a letter, and they asked Mr Samuel to gst from the Minister of Justice a copy and names of burgesses who bad requested *»*r Bayley to aot In the way he bad. Tbe deputation spoke highly bf Mr Rawson's impartial administration of justioe and deprecated Mr Bayley's ac Jon In the matter laying that it- was unjustifiable on his part. Wellington, January 15.
