Hobabt, January 12. I Last night Government announced their intention to abandon the taxation proposals, which were only carried on the casting vote of the Chairman. To this course, however, the Opposition object, on the ground that it would be unconstitutional, and will endeavor to prevent supplies being voted beyond what is necessary to carry on till the geqeral election.
