At a meatlog of tbe Cabinet this afterneon tbe qoeation of the Railway Commissioners was under consideration and the appointments allotted as follows: — Chief Commissioner, Mr Jae. McKerrow, Surveyor - General ; Assistant Commie sioners, Mr J. P Maxwell (General Manager . of Railway?) and Mr W, M. Hannay (Assistant Guneral Manager of Railways). The salaries for th* prgltions are : — Chief Commissioner, £1200 ppr annum ; Assistant Commissioners, £1000 per RDnutn. The Premier states that no gentleman was reoommetdai by the Agent- General for the position, The name of onn {gentleman was submitted by Sir F. D. Bill, but before the mitier oarae under consideration the gentlemin (n question telegraphed to have bis namp withdraw" .
