Mr Dixon, manages of Pourere run, and ihr«:e other men named Tylee, Cox and Kennedy went out on a fishing expedition. By some mean* tbe bout waß upset. Tho fi.st-named three reached the shore but Tyloe aad Cox weri iasensiblo, and roetorative measaroß had to be applied which were .successful. Mr Dixm, 4 gentleman- ot escep.ional phy^iquo and athletic powers, was not bo exhausted, and seeing Kennedy (-.blacksmith oa the statu n) drowning, vent m aa.a'in to save him. However, Dixon either became' exhausted or was clutched by Kennedy, for ho sank, and both were drowned. Dixon waa married only a few weeks ago.
