Sydney, January 2

A terrific gale swept the east end of the Solomon Island group at the end of November, destroying plantations and houses m all directions. The Sydney schooner, Lizzie, was caught m the gale and dismasted, bhe had a narrow escape of foundering, and was so much damaged that she was eventually condemned. She was insured m the South British office.
