Sydney, December 22 Butter has risen one shilling, owing to the small supply m the market and the Christmas demand.

The following oable message has been received m town from Messrs Golds - brough, Mort and Co., dated Sydney, 19th December, 1888 :— .

" Market very depressed ; drought fast breaking up ; large shipments arrived. Tuscan milling wheat, prime quality, sacks m, 5s ; fowl wheat, best quality, 'sacks m, 8s 6d to 4s 2d ; oats, 4s, Sales most difficult to effect."
