Norman is expected to arrive m London toward tho ond of January, and he will leave for Queensland m February should his appointment as Governor to that colony be confirmed. In tho House of Commons the Liability of^ Trustees Bill was read a third timo. Tho clause providing for investment of funds by trustees m colonial stocks was omitted. During tho discussion on the measure Mr O. H. Anderson, mombor for Elgin and Nairnshire, accused Mr Goschen of bolstering consols. In referring to the clause | struck out Mr Goschen trusted that its omission would not be regarded aa any reflection on Colonial stocks, and ho hoped Government would bo m a poßition to doal with the question next session. ; At a banquet of Mr Jos» Service, Mr Goschen responded to tho toast of Great Britain, and Sir Graham Berry to that of tho colonies. Both gentlemen, m the course of their remarks, eulogised Mr Service.
