(per press association.) Napier, December 20. The 'new oathedral of St John's wee consecrated to-day by the Bishop of Waltpn. There was an Immenee ns■emblage within tho walla of the building. The ceremony waa grand and impressive. A half holiday wan obnerved on the occasion, »nd all the shopi were closed. The new Cathedral was orowdefl tonight, vrhen there waa full choral service mognificently sang by a atroDg united choir. The building is illuminfttod moat brillantly by the albo-oarbon light.
