The markets are dull, dae principally to the approaching holidays. One feature is the large amount of imports from New Zealand, Since Friday no less than twelve sailing ressels and steamers arrived here laden with, produce. The following are the latest quotations :— Oats, m consequence of heavy shipments from New Zealand are easier ; best feeding sorts are selling at 4s 3d ; milling, 4s 6d to 4s 7d. At Melbourne and Adelaide wheat 3b dull, prices ranging from 4s 6*d to 4s lOd. The market ib erratic, and will probably be unsettled till after the New Year. Adelaide, December 18. Boiler flour, £12 ; stone make, £11. filnißouiiNß, December 18. Hour, roller make, £11 ; stone make, £10 10s. London, December IVTho wool sales closed to-day with prices unchanged, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, have received the following cable message from their head office m London : — Wool Hales — the next series will open on 29th January. The quantity to be offered is not limited, bat all arrivals up to commencement of sales will bt admitted, Sheepskins — Prices are higher by 5 per cent to 6 per cent. Tallow market unchanged, with email transactions. The Nott Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable from their London office, dated 17th December :— Wool — The sales closed fairly well this day. Scoured and superior greasy merino have advanced to Id per lb since the close of last sales. Medium and inferior have advanced barely £ per lb ; medium crossbred has advanced Id per lb ; coan«, to Id ; and .lambs, except faulty descriptions, per lb. Tho sales comprised about 155,000 bales. Five thousand bales have been held over for future disposal, 90,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, and 3000 bales for America.

Tallow — There is a fair speculative demand and less trade, demand. Quotations for good mutton and beef tallows are 35s and 33s 3d per cwfc respectively. Cocksfoot. — Quotations unchanged tsince last telegram.
