The Directors of the New Zealand Shipping Company report that an examination of the books of the Company m New Zealand shows that the colonial balance sheets have been iqaccurate. The cost of ships and steamers is overstated by ;£7 3,000, and the depreciation of steamers is tinder-estimated by ;£84,000. The report recommends the gradual extinction of the deficit m the hope of a prosperous future; In the report to shareholders the Committee recommend that the rules should be remodelled m order to permit;the transfer of the entire management to London. . . .
