«, The following is the Corn Exchange eport for the week ending Friday, Dccem>er 14th, 1888 :— The markets show an easier tendency, and ipeoulation for the time being is at a stand-, itill, pending more definite information as to he damage the drought is likely to Tiave done m Australia. Tiotoria's yield, although small, will not bo bo small as was anticipated. Bain is again threatening m New South Wales feeding grains are slightly easior, but stock are so lightly held that we do not expect to Bee muoh of a roaotion. Grass seeds have had a good demand and prioea are well main* tamed. Dairy Produce : with the strong opa< rations m Sydaay, the market haa been firm f}< our quotations. Whkat— Prime tuscan commands a fair enquiry up to 4s 6d ; short berried lines, at from 4s 3d to 4s 4d ; second quality for ohiokwheat is bare at 4s, and broken" Ss 6d to 3i Bd. Oaxs — A.lth6ugh the demand has not been quite so Btrong, holders are firm m their demand of 8s 6d for good abort feed, and 8s to 8s 4d for long and inferior kinds. Beaks and Peaß-t3B 6d to 3s 8d according to quantity and quality. Gilass Ses!O— A considerable quantity has been plaoed during the week at 2s 3d to 2s 9d ; for farmers lines. Holders are now asking more money wbioh buyers decline to accede to. Maohine dressed is quoted at 3s 3d to 3s 6d, but the demand is only for an odd small parcel, Cocksfoot, no business is transpiring. The reports from the cocksfoot oounlry are m favor of good yields, but the samples will not be of the pnmest. The Home market is exceedingly low at the present, and anticipations are that our market here will open at very unremunerative prices. • Potatoes have an expiring existence at £6 f.o.b. Dairy Propuob— There is not muoh batter offering, holders have been keeping baok for improved values, whiob, however, now are not likely to be realized, our chief market, Sydney, being well supplied for the time being. Prioeß here have reotded to lOd for prime. Cheese— lor prime old, sd, and B£d to 4d for new makes. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery f .o b., sacks extra.
