The Supreme Coort criminal sessions to-day was the shortest on record, The Court opened at 11, and completed its business at 2.30. There were five charges •gainst six prisoners. The Grand Jary fonnd no bill against a man charged with 'making a false declaration under the Marriage Act that he had lived three days In Timaro, when he had gone np country one day. A lad of sixteen vfas sentenced to twelve months' for house breaking and laroeny, on the understanding that Mr Tlobener, master of the Gaversham Industrial School, applies to the Minister for Justice for an order to transfer him from prison to the school, where he had been some yeais, Mr Tlohensr seemed anxious to get him, and ■aid he believed he could make a good man of him He had been successful with several similar cases. Two youngers, of fourteen and a half yearß were charged with a similar offence. One was sent to the Industrial School till 15, and the other admitted to probation. J. Bell alias Walla, for stealing 143 lbi of wool from the Pareora station Sot two years. H. Dickeon Adams, ailing from Wellington, pleaded guilty to two charges of forgery and was sentenced to sine months on eaoh. He told a tale of wrong at tho hands of the Mohawk Ministrela who engaged his wife, he stated, and left her penniless and he being m the same condition. On coming down to fetoh her he committeed forgery inbiidißtreßß.
