Continental depressed, American also changing for the worse. Avorage price of English wheat at country markets, 31s Bd. ' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram from their' 1 London office, dated 4th December :— Wool— Greasy has advanced Id per lb, and scoured Id to l^d par lb, since close of last sales, bince the opening of the sales there has been an average advance of 1\ per cent on crossbred on last sales closing rates. Lambs has advanced £d to Id per lb. Buyers are operating with spirit. Up to date, 43,000 bales have been sold. Frozen Meat — Mutton market unchanged ; beef market better. New Zealand beef, forequarters are worth 3£d per lb, and hindquarters B§d per lb.
