. «. WELtifcoroN, Vecembe? 6. The Waipawa Exhibition was opened m a brilliant manner. Four bands were preseot, also the Friendly Societies and 1000 school children. Theopeningceremony was performed ! by Mr T. Tanner M.HE., and there were on the dais with him Captain Russell, Messrs J D. Ormond and W. C. Smith M.H.R.'s the Mayors of Napier and Hastings, and the Chairmen of local bodiep. Over 3000 persons paid for admission to the Exhibition. It is a most creditable show though all the exhibits are not yet m their places. There is a fine collection of oil and water color paintings, &n immense number of curios, ppppimnns of manufacture?, models, furniture etc. Last night the building and enolosnre were brilliantly lighted with the electric light. White and Co of Dunedin are the electricians. The light was a grand suoceßß oalling forth the highest encomiumß.
