WRONGFULLY IMPRISONED.
The Government have granted £%oo each to two men; named Brannigan and Murphy, who have been wrongfully imprisoned for ten years. Th£ Soli-citor-General, Sir E. Clarke, referring to the matter m the House of Commons, said it was clear from their case that the rules would have to be altered, so that m future prisoners might be allowed to give evidence m their own defence.
