Percy Smith, Assistant Surreyor* Genera), stated, at. an interview, that there is a boom m land settlement, m great deal of land having been taken ap since tho Aot of last session name into force. The lands are being selected In ail parts from North to far South,' and there area number of appl!o*D?i oomlng m for fresh lands to be thrown open. The epcclal settlements established under the Aot are flourishing. It is stated that a land agent m town one clay this week sold privately country land value i at £10.000. The demand for farm? for S3Uletnent Is very great.
