London, December 1. New Consolr, 96%; New Zealand Fours, 98^. The stock market shows a rising tendency. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 445. The market for business is restricted. Copper—Chili bars, 15s. Tin— Straits tin, ;£ioi ss ; Australian tin, 10s. ..Iron — Best Scotch pig, No 1, f.0.b., 42s with a rising tendency. The English wheat market is firmer ; Continental is a little better 5 American is tending upwards. Australian flour, ex store, 30s ; New Zealand flour, 255; colonial beans, 395 : oats are firm at 265. At the wool sales to-day there was increased animation m bidding, and the improvement m the prices since last auction ranged from 5 to 10 per cent. French and German buyers opeiated freely. It is expected that the a Ivance m some kinds will be more pronounced as the sales progress. Up to the present the chief advance has been m. merinos. American buyers purchased large quantities. The catalogue to date included 35,800 bales, of which 35,000 were sold. The money market is changing for the better, owing to the increased demand for export. Three months' bills are-quoted at 4 per cent. Tallow — Australian mutton, 345; beef, 32s 9d.
