At the wool sales to-day there was increased animation m bidding, and the improvement m the prices since last auction ranged from 5 to 10 per cent. French and German buyers opeiated freely. It is expected that the a Ivance m some kinds will be more pronounced as the sales progress. Up to the present the chief advance has been m. merinos. American buyers purchased large quantities. The catalogue to date included 35,800 bales, of which 35,000 were sold. The money market is changing for the better, owing to the increased demand for export. Three months' bills are-quoted at 4 per cent. Tallow — Australian mutton, 345; beef, 32s 9d.
