T^TOTIOE is hereby given that a Peti_i^j tion having been presented to the Ashburton County Oounoil from the Rite payera of the Wakannl, South Rakala, Mount Hntt, and Upper Ashburton Ridings, praying the Council to provide an additional Water Supply for an area ol oountry oomprlelng parts of those Ridiogs, the boundaries whereof are described and defined in the said Petition, and for that porpoio to oonstitute the said area a District under "The Counties Act, 1886," for the oonstruclon of Irrigation Works therein, the Oounoil Intends at a Special Meeting to be held on FRIDAY, the 4th day of January, 1889, immediately after the Ordinary Monthly Meeting of the Oonncll h«s t»ken place on that day, to oonulder, and if thought fit, to adopt a resolution making a Special Order declaring that part of the Oounty of Ashburton which Is comprised within the limits of the satd area to be a District for the purpose of the construction of Irrigation Works therein.
