No winner of any of the above events allowed to start. Post entries. RULES. 1. No professional jockey will be allowed to ride. 2. All events to be 'confined to the South Rakaia and Mount Hutt Road Board Dig(nets, and five miles north of the Rakaia river, end ten miles west of the railway line. 3. "Weights, for all races— list for three-year-olds, i2st stone for four -year-olds, and I2st 7lb for 5, 6, and aged. 4. No horse that has won more than ;£io m one event will be allowed to compete. 5. The races are open to any horse commonly resident m the prescribed district from the Ist of Octobtr, 1888 and owned by a person who has resided m the said district (luring the same period, 6. Nominations for Saddle Trot with fee of ios each, age, description and performance of hqrse must be deposited with the i. ecretary at Rakaia, not later than 8 p.m, on Saturday, December 15th, 1888. Acceptances ana general entries, together with fees, by 6 p.m, on Wednesday, December 19th. Jn all cases the names, fees, ages of horses, and colors of riders must accompany nominations. 7. 411 protests mnst be given m writing to the Secretary within thirty minutes after the race has been run, together with the sum of £1, which shall be forfeited if, m the opinion of the Committee, the protest is frivolous, 8. No entry will be received unless all the above conditions are complied with, and on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be dcci ed by the Committee or whom they may appoint. Their decision on all points to be final. The Committee reserve the right to hold over any stake until satisfied that the qualification of entry is correct and the onus of proof shall lie with the owner. Also to postpone the races if necessary through wet weather. 9. No second .prize will be given unless three or more horses compete. 10. Any prize npt claimed within seven days from the day of the races' will be forfeited and go to the funds. ATHLETIC SPORTS; To commence at 10,30 punctually : Eleven events for good money prises.
