j The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, November 30th, 1888 :— Buyers are beooming more ohary m purohaßing, the price of wheat having gone up beyond the margin required for Home ship, ments. Speculators have of late been more concerned with the Australian markets. Oats are now nearly oomored, and Mhila so held are sure to maintain a firm tone. Very few are being oflered. There has been a very large enquiry for oaten chaff, whioh has bean selling freely at £3 10s at country stations. Dairy produce has been nearly oleared out. During the week large shipments have gone forward to Sydney by both the Wakatipu and Taupo. Intercolonial tonnage ia scarce and freights are high. Wheat.— A strong demand exists and sales of prime lines have been made at 4s 6d. Tuscan by itself is worth 4s Bd.~ Seconds are wanted at 3s 4d to 3s Bd. Oats.— lt is hard to determine the value of this cereal, only urgent orders are being com* pleted at the figures we quote, but as the bulk is m the hands of a few we shall expect our quotations to be firmly maintained. Milling are worth 3s 9d ; short feed, 3s 6d ; and lone sorts, 8s 3d to 3s 4d. " Bablbv — Very little is enquired for exoepfc for feed at 2s 9d to 3s 3d. ■-. Grass Sbkd.— A few sales have been made at 2b to 2s 6d for farmers' parcels, and 2s 9d to 3s for maohine dressed. Potatoes.— A few sales for looal oonsump* tion have been made at £6 at country stations. Produce.— Butter : In this article there is ft brisk speculative demand since our last report, and we trust the farmers will avail themselves of tbe opportunity of realizing suoh good prices now offering, BJd, fair ; 9d to lOd for prime dairy paoked. 'Cheese : New is not yet fit for shipment we quote 4d as about ruling rates ; old, very soaroe, sd. The above prioes are those paid to farmer! for delivery f.0.b., saoks extra.
