(PER rBKMS ASSOOIATION.) Ohristchokch, November 23 The first series of wqol sales opened this afternoon, when 1125 bales were offered. The Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co , National Mortgage and Agenoy Co., and Farmers' Co-operative ABsooiation Bold. Half-bred wool fetched BJd to flgd per lb ; merino, best, BJd to 9 l-8d ; looks nnd pieces, 4id to GJd The highest prioo was 9sd, realised for firatcroßß wool grown at Chortsey. The oompetition was spirited, and prioee a penny per lb better than last year's opqnipg sales.
