TO THE BDITOB.
Sir, —l have glvoc way to an Impulse to write ft few words m reference to .Etoqalrer'a letter The dry-an-dust dootrine be oompluinn of is very old indeed : as old as whan Abel aaorlfioed the lamb, emblem of tho Lamb of God that tak<*th away tho alo of the world, Wbat does Enquirer moan by "finding oat what people believe, and preaohlng accordingly "? It does not matter what people believe, the preaoher of the Gospel dare not and oannot preach anything else but Christ the Way ; the Door of Heaven. No other belief either ancient or modern, "'ill serve us m onr extremity. Certainly the agnostic mast have taken his creed from the Christian cburch or the Word of God, for it i» written there : Be ye kind one to another, tendorhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven yon. Ah for the dying, Alas ; there is no hope for them out of Christ but there is the glorious promise that " wJwsoever cometh unto Me I will m no wise cast out." J>ow as to tho number of the saved, it is written m God'B word, " there were a great multitude that no man could number out of every nation " redeemed. That does not looklike one m every million. Paul aays we »re not to be carried about by every wind of doctrine, for the.'' time will come when they will not endure sound docrine, bat after their own loots shall *hey heap to themselves teachers, haying itching tare, and thoy shall torn away tholr eara from the truth, and shall be turned unto f abli 8." If Enquirer will read the Gospels and Epistles he will fiud no modern doctrine there. It is from the foundation of the world. I also heard Mr (Vlonro preach on Sunday night, but there was nothing new, only hts pleaeent original way of delivering the old message.
