Thi* afternoon the Mayor of 1 yttelton received a reply to the telegram sent last night taking that asslstanoe should be given to the police to capture Murray. It was to the effeot that Instructions would be given to the Permanent Artillery and warders to assist the police, and was signed by Oolonel Hui»e. Ghbibtohurcf, November 17. Murray has been run to earth at last. He was caught about half-past two this morning In the Lyttelton tunnel after an exciting chase. The otptura was effected by Constable O'Connor and artilleryman Mayne, who had to fire nevaral times on the Maori before he gave m. Full details later.
