RE-CAPTURE OF MURRAY
THE ESCAPED MAORI.

Ohbistohukoh, November 16. Bowlei, tal'or, at St Albaue, a northern suburb of Chrlstohurc' 1 , saw a man resembling Murray paas his shop ai 6 a.m. to-day. He communioated with th* polloe two hours later, and tho St Albars and Papsnul constables have been on the look-out fur the fugitive all day without success. Thi* afternoon the Mayor of 1 yttelton received a reply to the telegram sent last night taking that asslstanoe should be given to the police to capture Murray. It was to the effeot that Instructions would be given to the Permanent Artillery and warders to assist the police, and was signed by Oolonel Hui»e. Ghbibtohurcf, November 17. Murray has been run to earth at last. He was caught about half-past two this morning In the Lyttelton tunnel after an exciting chase. The otptura was effected by Constable O'Connor and artilleryman Mayne, who had to fire nevaral times on the Maori before he gave m. Full details later.
