Sydney, November 16* Great excitement has been caused at Broken Hill by further attempts to burn down the town. ' Serious bushfires have occurred m the Smithfield district. Numbers of settlers have been burnt out. A child named Bailley was burned to death. '. There is no sign of the drought breaking up, and stockqwners m the Dubbo district have disposed of 25,000 sheep at from sd to Sd per head.
