A LIFE BOAT DISASTER.

London, November 14. A brig, enteriug the river Tees, struck a sandbank, and lifeboats were proceeding to the stranded vessel to bring the crew ashore when one capsized, and eight men were drowned m full view of the crowd of spectators assembled on the shore. A woman m the crowd dropped dead from excitement. The brig's crew were subsequently safely landed.
