Sydnbt, November 13* Owing tq the. severe drought m the Alfcury district 25,000 old 9heep have been killed m order to preserve herbage for the more valuable stock. Three New Lambton miners, charged with rioting, were to-day sentenced by the Court to various terms of imprisonment. One was sent to gaol for eight months, while the others received five months each. With the exception of the Kiama miners, who refuse to accept the terms of the masters, all the msn out on strike have signed the agreement. The carpenters' strike has also ended. The men will receive 9s 0d per day till the end of the year» vrhen the rate of wages will be raised to 10s.
