AN AUCKLAND WEDDING.

Tho "N.Z Herald" saya that the marriage of the retiring Lady Superintendent of the District Hospital, Miaa Crispy to Dr Bond, of the hon. medical visi'ing staff, took place at ha f past two on Saturday afternoon at St Sepulchre's Church. The ovent created great interest, owing to the popularity of tho bride, and long before the hour appointed tho spacious church was crowded to excess, the greater portion of the assemblage being of the fair aex. Outside, the traffic was blocked on the Kyber Pass. In many respects the marriage waa most unique, and perhaps m Done more bo than m its simplicity. Tho bride had been about her official duties as usual, and made the rounds of the warda, having a oheery word for the sick, and bade all good-bye. Shortly before the hour appointed for the marriage ceremony she deove over from the Hospital m n cab, I aopompanled by the Hon Colonel HaU ltain, to the ohuroh, at the entrance of which the narring staff, some twenty strong, m uniform, met the party, and offioiated as bridesmaids. Owing to the crowded state of the ohuroh Oo'onel Haoltain had tome diffionlty m getting up the aisle with the bride on his arm where the bridegroom was expeotant She wore her hospital uniform, having on her left breast the medals for sorvioa m tha Zulu and Egyptian oampalgov, and one from the Turkish Government, while on her left shoulder she bore the Royal , Red Cress awarded by her Majesty the Queen. Mr Trlmnel, Maa. Baa. Oxon, organist of Sfc Mary's Parnell, officiated aa organist and played a voluntary. The choir was m attendsnoe and sang " How Festal was the Day," before the ceremony, after which the Yen. Archdeacon Dudley took the first part of the service at the chancel steps, Colonol flaultain Riving the < bride away. After the psalm was sung the Rev. W. Tibbs, incumbent of Bfc. Matthew's, took the service and finished. The Archdeacon supplemented it with a short address. Not the least pleasing feature of the ceremony was tho number of convalescent and semi-convalescimt hospital patients who were present to show their goodwill and respect for the retiring lady superintendent. Some of them had not been no far fom the hospital for months past.
