SPEECHES AT THE MELBOURNE BANQUET.
(PER PKESB AS3OOIATION.)
Melbourne, November 11. At the Mayoral banquet on Saturday, Lord Carrington urged the formation of a united national party, whose objects should be to prevent internal separation m colonies, and keep secure the bonds between Australia and the mother country. Mr Gillie 3 supported the idea, and urged the union of Aus tralia. If New South Wales would lead a movement m this direction Victoria would follow. Sir Maurice O'Rorke spoke m favor of the Fedeural movement.
