(PER PKBSS ASSOCIATION.) BKIBBANE. Novnrohor 9. Sir Cbas. Mcllwraith, the Premier, has informed Lord Knutsford, the Secretary for the Colonies, that the appointment of Sir A. H. Blake to the Governorship of Queensland has caused great dissatisfaction and indignation. London, November 8 Mr T. Archer, Agent-General for Queensland, has informed Lord Knuts ford that there is strong dissatisfaction 'm Queensland at the appointment of I Sir A. H. Blake. London, November 9 Lord Knutsford, the Secretary for the Colonies, is much irritated at the interference of Sir Thomas Mcllwraith with the selection ot ihe Governor of Queensland, and he has expressed his determination to relain full responsibility, and resent any dictation on the part of the Premier of Queensland. L6rd Knutsford considers that it would be better to abolish the Colonial Office altogether if its only important function is to be abrogated. The " Daily Chrooicle," commenting on the question, condemns Lord Knutsford's action m refusing what it terms Queensland's reasonable request, and says it is quite time that the Colonial Office recognised the right of Colonial Governments to have a voice m the selection of Governors.
