The " Tribune " statei that the Republican victory is due to the policy of liberty and protection. Its general comments indicate that the anti-British policy influenced the election. Cleveland secured a majority m the Southern States, while Harrison had a majority m the North. New York determined the result. WABHiNQTOir, November 8 The Democrats insist on an official count being made of the votes m New York State. They claim to have carried the States of California, Illinois and Indiana, and secured Cleveland's election, unless the New York vote is against them.
