Dttnedin, November 6, At the Presbyterian Synod to-night, a protest was received protesting against the action of tho riynod m "regard to the "Roign of Graoo," oo the ground that bbo Synod should hare the oenaure of the Duipdla Presbytery for Irregular prooeolinga, and tha author should have been declared not a aoliiatar of the Ohuroh. The Synod determined net to answer the reasons m the protest. The evening was takea up with the Ohurch gnteadon report. A recommendation was mida to Bend Home for two ministers, bat this wbs oVjeoted I to, as it would discourage local student's, ■*nd the Syno'l, by a large majority, folded th*t. ministera should not ba sent for! f3 At the Anglloan Synod a debata took plcC3 on a motion that it was desirable to amend abuse 20, Oanon 2, to provide for parishes a mode of relief from the ministrations of clergymen whoae mode of conducting dlvlie service and general conduct are aooh as to alienate the majority of the parishioners, although probably not sach as to enable parishioners to appeal- This wai eventually withdrawn m favor of a motion that ths Standing Oommlttee abould communicate with other Committees, throughout -the colony aa to the advisability of amending clause 20.
