THE MINERS' STRIKE.
London, November 2. At the annual meeting of the Scottish Australian Mine Company, the . Chairroan stated that the trade of the Lambton mine, Newcastle, New South Wales, ! had increased so much m the second half-year as to justify a dividend of 15 per cent. No dispute had occurred between the men and the Company, but the former had stiuck at the bidding of the Union. The object of the Union was to exhaust owners. The Company hoped that they would not have to import men, but unless work was resumed immediately m the New Castle mines, it would have to be done, for the owners were determined not to allow the Union to gain the upper hand, and practically become masters.
