It woujd be naturally concluded that he had no right to be an inmate of the Asylum, but no one will take the respomibility of releasing him, and consequently Fonwick has remained m the Asylum ever tince. Government appointed Colonel Haultain to make special enquiries into the matter and this gentleman's report has been sent to Wellington.
