Lord Sfiafield will thus fol ot the example of the eleventh Lcrd F*lrfax, who, when he nuoceeded his brother m the title In 1869. refused to leave the United States, where he bad been born and bred, and who is praotißing as a physlolan la Maryland." j The correspondent of another jonrnal adds :—" Lord Seafield has no landed property, for the family estates, which extend to 305,000 acres m three counties, were bequeathed by tbe eighth Esrl to his mother, the Dowager Lady Seafield, who now possesses them, bnt she has entailed them on the present earl, whose protpeets of Buoceselon are, however, decidedly remote, as he is only 15 years younger than Lady Seafield. I learn that Lord Seafield Intends to reside permanently tn New Zealand.
