Byjdney, Ootober 20. The trial of the nine shearers who were arrested for having taken part m riots m the Wagga district took place to-day, when the whole of them were found guilty, and His Honor passed sentences ranging from one year to three years. Sydney. Ootober 21. Tbe cable between Port Darwin and Banjoewangie has again been interrupted. The wires failed at 7.30 this morning (Singapore time), and the break is said to be sixty miles from Banjoewangie. With reference to the rumored strike of Seamen m New Zealand, the Steam ship-owners' Association has resolved not to permit the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand to be singled out, and declared that if the seamen engaged on tbe fleet of the latter Company are withdrawn, they will be locked out by other Companies. It is not improbable that the proprietors of the coal mines will amalgamate with the Shipowners' Association m resistiug the action taken by the labor agitators.
