WaiiiNGTojr, October 18 At a meeting of the creditors of A. B. Jackson, licensee of the Commercial Hotel, it waa deolded to oppose his discbarge, and the circumstances connected with the bankruptcy will be brought before tie Oourt with a view to bavfng the bankrupt punished. The examination proved that when Jackson took the hotel he had only £100, and had debts to £159. The bank, rupt has within the last eleven years filed twice, and on this occasion made an assignment to his creditors.
The abolition of the Native Department and the control of Native Affairs being handod over to the oharge of the Colonial Secretary's Department will take plaoe m tk few days' time.
Among other reforms m connection with administration will be the appointment of more Judges of the Native Land Courts, with a view to expediting the settlement of land disputes and questions of title ; and tha System of prooednre of the Courts will also be thoroughly revised.
