THE COAL STRIKE.

Newcastle, October 18 The proprietors of the Stockton colliery had completed arrangements to coai the Union Company's |steamer Waihora, but as the steamer was using non-Union trimmers the miners threatened to cease work if the vessel was coaled. The manager has pro raised to coal the Waihora m Sydney harbor, but the men still hold to the position taken up and state that they will go out if non-Union trimmers are engaged.
