Both of her lego were oroshed, and had to be amputated. 'A boy named Anguatine Marphey, five and a half years of age, was killed this evening at the railway Biding near Mount Eden Gaol. The unfortunate little fellow was, with hl« two brothers and other boys, ploying with an empty traok, poshing it baokwarda arid forwards along the line. Deoeased fell m front of the wheels of the truck, and it pasaed over him, horribly mangling him. Death was instantaneous.

In his address, his Excellency regretted this would be the last oooasion on whioh he would have pleasure In taking part m the proceedings of the Fine Arts Association, a.a he would soon be leaving the colony, The number of exhibits ii 275, and though there la a decrease m number as compared with last year, the Exhibition Is quite equal to those held m previous years. A point onder the Married Women's Property Act was deolded by Mr Jaetlce Wllllami torday on' appeal from the decision of the R.M. In Invercargill. The aotlon In the Oourt below was brought by appellant (Matheaon) to recover from respondent (Attkeo) a sum alleged to be due by his wife priqr to marriage, on the ground that be had beoome entitled, through tfye wjfe, to a aura equal to the •.mount of the claim.
