LORD G. HAMILTON ON THE NAVY.
Lord Geo. Hamilton, First Lord of the Admiralty, speaking at Glasgow, said the construction of twenty-nine warships, aggregating a hundred thousand tons, would be completed m December next. He said that England ought to follow the colonial example* and organise efficient bodies of vessels for the local defence of trade centres* Eight of the largest worships wera awaiting guns, the production of whiehi must be accelerated.
