The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Bo_.rd was held on Thursday October llth. Present— Maeßrs Wm. McMillan, J. Holmes, J. Johnston and D. Cameron.

It was deoided, to fill the holes m Mr Holmes road, to givo Ma MoAvey notico to go on wfth the formation of MaglnniB 1 Tmwi 5,t ono^ _Tende«s from Mr J. Blaok were received for"~repaTra on different" roads. Tho matter waa left In the hands of the Chairman, aa there were no other tender?, to let whatever work was required when Mr Blaok had oompleted some of his present works.
Correspondence was read — (1) from the District Railway Engii_e3r— (2) From the Oommlßsionar of 0.0 w.i Lands re moneys aoor^ed on deferred piyment laodB— (3) From the Burvey dopartment re road from Cairnbrae along the railway —(4) From Mr W. Gerard, and the Ashburton Oounty Oounoil re Blaok Mountain track— Resolved that the Board contribute a sum equivalent to half the ratufl payed by Mr Gjrard to the B >ard towards the repairs on the track — (5) From the Oounty Oouucil asking tne Board to contribute half thu cost of tho works required at Chapman's oreek and the bridge near (.the slaughterhouse. Resolved that the Board contribut* that amount— (6) From the Oouuty Engineer re water raco c.oaalng on tho Lyndhurßt road stating that tbe race iv question was a private one of Messrß Gould aud Oamerou s.
Mr Gaul aßked permission to remove silt off the road for the purposs of making up the embankment to the flume across the e tor it water gully on his property — Granted. ■/ Mr Baker was granted permission to take a water race aorosi the West Ooaat road.
It was resolved to enlarge the storm water crossing near Mr A Thompson's. Acoounts to the amount of £42 16j 51 were passed for pay mens.
