Sydney, Oo'ober 11. Messrs Chaffey Bros, are inspecting a site on the Nepean River, with a view of establishing a l*rge irrigation settlement there. The young man Arthur Coulton, who shot his stepfather, Patrick Jamss Keenahan, publican, of Moor Creek, Tamworth, on September 3rd, the latter having, it is alleged, seduced prisonei's sister, has been convicted on a charge of manslaughter, and sentenced to two years and nine months' imprisonment. The sentence will probably be commuted, as Coulton is said to be m a rapid decline, and cannot live for any length of time.
