The following instance of " Lynoh law " at the Foxton flaxmills is given by a Manavratu • paper :— One of the men recently appropriated a couple of pounds from tbe'pooket •f one of his mates. The delinquent, on being discovered, was Bttipped, lashed to a whipping post, and given a sound thrashing with the " tails." He was then taken to the river bank and "heaved fat."
