London, October 7. The Marquis of Normanby has been interviewed regarding the statement! that be was to succeed Sir William Robinson as Governor of South Australia His lordship stated lhat he had been promised the appointment, and he had not been informed that his wishes had been disregarded. It is now expected he will be appointed elsewhere*
