VICTORIA.
Melbourne, October 2, At Lilydale, a small town about twenty-four miles north-east of this city, a man named George Lyme shot his mother-in-law, a Mrs Clifford, m a' quarrel over some family dispute. The ' unfortunate woman disd soon after the tragic occurrence. The dearo sentence passed on Mary Kempton, on the 7th ult for the murder of her infant child has been commuted to imprisonment for io years with hard labor. '
