Mr Peter Williams (for Messrs Frfedlander Bros.) reports for the week ending 29 h Sept., 1888 :—

At the Tinwald yarda on Tuesday, the 25th mat, the entry was very mucb larger than it has. been for some time, both m cattle and sheep. About 5500 sheep and 160 head of oattle were yarded, of which we submitted 1500 sheep and 93 head of oattle. There w«s a not a ve>y large master of Ibuyers, and the bidding throughout the sale was very languid, several lota of cheep and oattle beiDg turned out. The following are the prices obtained :— Fat orossbreds, 12a; merinos, 7a 3 i to 11s 3d ; crossbred hoggets, 9i Bi, 10j 3d, 10s Bi, 11* ; 2-tooth Ofosftbred mixed sexes, 14} 9i ; oroaßbred ewea and l»mbs, 13s Id ; mixed crossbred merino ewes and lambs, 8a 9d. l'»t cows, £3 2* 61 to £5 15a ; heifers, £3 7s to £4 153. We submitted a line of 65 store steers, £4 2a 6d being bid for them, but they weie withdrawn.
