TRUE BILLS The Grand Jury found trne bills •gainst: — Obarlea Fowler, larceny; George Curie, cattle stealing ; Jumps Cotter, Andrew Black, and Richard Chamberlain, assault and robbery ; Jabez Frost, Indecent assault j Eustace Frank Allen, forgery ; George Kyrrison, William Batchelor, and Thomas Henry Batchelor, sheep stealing (three oaeeB) ; and Robert Woods, demanding money with menaces (two oases). In the case of Jana Norris, the Grand Jury found No " Bill," and the accused was discharged. John Bowie, who had been committed for horse stealing, had no indictment presented against him and was discharged. LARCENY. Charles Fowler was convicted of this offence and sentenced to three years penal servitude. CATTLE STEALING. George Curia pleaded " Guilty and was sentenced to two years' probation and to pay the ocita of the prosecution, £20< ASSAULT AND BOBBERY. James Cotter, Andrew Black and Biohard Chamberlain were oonvioted and sentenced, Black and Chamberlain to three years' penal servitude ; and Cotter to twelve months' Imprisonment with herd labor. ! FOKGEKY. Eustace Frank Allen pleaded "Guilty " ' to an indictment charging him with r having forged and uttered a oheque for £15 10a on the Union Bank, Timaru. His Honor sentenced the aoonsed to twelve months' Imprisonment, as he had I already been m prison for two months.
